I loved this story! This book is a Biblical
fiction story that centers on Michal, the wife of David. I have not read many books like
this one, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Jill’s descriptive prose pulled me in and set me
smack in the middle of an ancient kingdom and the people who lived there. I
came to understand and care about her characters and the struggles and triumphs
they experienced. The relationship between David and
Michal is passionate and interesting and, at times, heart-breaking.
The real story of David and Michal is found in the
Holy Bible, 1st and 2nd Samuel. I believe that Jill
stayed close to the scriptural account and filled in the ‘blanks’ in creative,
yet realistic ways.
If you like historical fiction and romance stories
(without graphic sexual content) then this book would be a good choice for you.
